Tips for New Bloggers

If you are a blogger and having a blog on wordpress.com or blogspot.com, then following points could be very useful, whether you have just started with a new blog or you are an old Samurai in the blogging -

• Content – This is the main thing for a blog. Try to post a useful and an interesting post everytime for your visitors.
• Research about topic – I know, blog is totally your place to write anything you like or dislike but a little research before writing is always been good. By spending some time on research about the topic you are going to write, you can get related keywords / phrases which can be included in the write-up. These researched keywords will give you chance to be top rankings in Search engines like Google, Yahoo, Ask and MSN Live Search.
• Social bookmarking – Bookmark your new or old posts in social bookmarking sites like digg.com in the relevant category. It will help you in fast indexing and link popularity.
• Tell your friends – This is an online world now, internet is like a necessity. So, if you have something new in your blog, tell your online friends about your new post and ask them how they feel about the topic.
• Make friends online – Find some related blogs with Google which are relevant to your posts and blog theme. Do some useful comments on their posts and make them friends.

Google PageRank Toolbar Update Sept 2008

Hi guys,

Google PageRank toolbar has just got updated again after a PR update of July 2008.

The best example would be this blog which had started on July 9, 2008 and has got PR3, a bit surprising for me. One of my SEO site has always got increased PageRank.

Google Insights for Search

Google announced a new tool for advertisers and marketers to understand search behavior – Google Insights for Search.

We can also say this is an Add-on to Google Trends. We just have to type the keyword in a search term to see search volume patterns over time, as well as the top related and rising searches. We can also compare search volume trends across multiple search terms, categories, geographic regions, or specific time ranges.

To download the results / analysis for our searches, we just need sign into our Google account.

A new Search Engine Cuil

Do you know Cuil?

Cuil (pronounced as COOL) is the Search engine launched by some Ex-Googlers and it’s really cool too. Cuil’s search results are also really relevant. It has the biggest index on the internet. It (www.Cuil.com) has indexed 120 billion web pages, three times more than any other search engine.

And after this announcement, Google asserted on its blog Friday that “the web is big” and Google system hits a milestone which is 1 trillion (as in 1,000,000,000,000) unique URLs on the web at once!

This would be an interesting topic for a long time now. I am sure! Google will win but who knows about the future! Best of luck to Cuil and Google too.

PageRank Toolbar Update is near

PR update is going on and can be visible in next few days.

This is what the Google guy, Matt Cutts stated in his blog on 24th July, 2008 -
“Hey folks, I wanted to let you know that new toolbar PageRank values should become visible over the next few days. I’m expecting that also in the next few days that we’ll be expiring some older penalties on websites.“

So, be ready to check your new updated PageRank for your websites / blogs and web directories.
